Inicio KHS Pro MTB Team: Ride Laguna and Tacos A “GRAVEL” STORY Nibali and Scarponi (Giro d'Italia 2016) 21 Mayo 2020 GIRO STORY EP.3: The Story Continues The 2016 Giro d’Italia has been another explosion of joy and colours, thanks to FSA sponsored team Astana and his leader Vincenzo Nibali. He was the headliner of another historic campaign in Sant'Anna di Vinadio, during the penultimate stage. Supported by a fantastic Michele Scarponi and his teammates, the Italian rider secured the fate of the 99th Giro d’Italia, inscribing his name for the second time on the “Trofeo Senza Fine”.The never-ending friendship with Vincenzo continued the following season, when the Italian champion became the leader of the new Team Bahrain-Merida, supported with an FSA cockpit. Vincenzo was prominent again in the Giro, reaching the third final position with a special handlebar developed by FSA just for him to accommodates the natural position of your arms for more comfort and easier breathing. The 2017 edition was again another great race for FSA, with 8 wins, 4 of those by the Colombian rocket Fernando Gaviria, the best sprinter of the edition thanks to his K-Force compact handlebar. All of these great stories are a culmination that brings us to the latest edition, where FSA sponsored team Astana revealed a new young champion in the making: the Colombian climber Miguel Angel Lopez. He is also known to many as “Superman” for defending himself and preventing the theft of his bicycle from two thieves who stabbed him in the leg during his youth. He reached the first podium of his young career in a Grand Tour behind two champions: Froome and Dumoulin. During the entire Giro, Lopez was supported by his FSA Carbon Powerbox, a fundamental tool that help him to track his data directly during the race to be more and more competitive. This is the power of partnerships, a stronghold of FSA for years, working extremely close with world-class teams and athletes to use their expertise and feedback to help us develop the next range of products!Until the 2019 edition, when two of our sponsored teams have reached the final podium, an important result, that confirmed the great FSA feeling in the most prestigious Italian race. Our champion Vincenzo Nibali, leader of Bahrain-Merida, took another podium place at the Giro d’Italia, the 6th in his career, always and however with FSA components. The Shark confirmed his second place overall, after a strong performance in the closing time trial! Primoz Roglic, leader of Jumbo-Visma, completed the podium with the third position. In the final time trial in Verona, Roglic gained enough time on his rival for third place, Mikel Landa. For Roglic and Team Jumbo-Visma it was a successful Giro with two time trial victories with Vision components, and five-days in the maglia rosa. It has been his first podium place in a Grand Tour, while in September 2019 he would win his first GT: La Vuelta.
